Shanghai WEGO Medical Technology Development Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Poly Medical Materials Co., Ltd., subsidiaries of WEGO Shanghai Research Institute, have successfully applied for the “2024 First Half Pudong New Area Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base Scientific Research Project.” These companies have officially been recognized as part of the Pudong New Area Postdoctoral Innovation Base.
Since its founding in 2019, the Shanghai Research Institute has focused on innovation, establishing multiple core technology platforms to drive the advancement and upgrading of medical device products. The Postdoctoral Innovation Base project has been running for two years, and all participating companies are leaders in technological innovation. The Institute has developed extensive expertise in medical-grade polyurethane, polyether ether ketone (PEEK) materials, and microneedle drug delivery technologies. Thanks to its strong capabilities in advanced medical device technologies and talent development, the Institute stood out from over 50 competing companies.
In 2023, Pudong New Area introduced the “Postdoctoral 10 Measures,” a new policy providing a full-chain support system for postdoctoral research, including financial support and housing assistance. Companies admitted to the base can recruit postdoctoral researchers and enjoy various types of institutional backing.
With 15 national and provincial innovation platforms, over 2,000 skilled R&D professionals, more than 1,700 patents, and numerous domestically developed products, WEGO Group continues to lead in medical innovation.
